Klook, Visa team up across six South-east Asian markets

Klook and Visa have entered a partnership covering six South-east Asian markets, with initiatives spanning cardholder offers, creator programmes and travel experiences.

The Memorandum of Understanding covers Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam. Under the agreement, the companies will undertake joint marketing and promotional initiatives, while Klook will become a partner on Visa Destinations, Visa’s travel platform.

The partnership comes as research from both companies points to travellers placing greater emphasis on experiences when planning trips.

Visa’s 2026 Global Travel Intentions study found 37 per cent of Asia-Pacific respondents planned trips around local experiences, compared with a global average of 29 per cent.

Klook’s Travel Pulse 2026, meanwhile, found more than half of Asia-Pacific travellers surveyed did not begin travel planning with a fixed destination. Some 23 per cent started with a particular activity before deciding where to travel.

The companies will also establish a creator framework across South-east Asia. Affiliate links from Visa creators will be hosted on Kreator Shops, Klook’s creator storefronts, which were revamped in August 2026.

Klook’s Kreator Programme comprises more than 30,000 travel content creators across 88 markets.

“Travel is a major force shaping South-east Asia’s cultures and economies. At Visa, we believe everyone can be the traveller they want to be, and that journey begins long before payment,” said Gladys Chan, head of marketing, regional South-east Asia, Visa.

“Across our markets, travellers are increasingly deciding what to do before where to go, with creators shaping those choices. The Klook Kreator Programme brings inspiration and booking together, allowing travellers to act on recommendations immediately,” added Sarah Wan, general manager for Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, Klook.
