Marriott International has signed a landmark agreement with CP Group to launch three new hotels in New Zealand, adding 335 rooms to its local footprint and debuting two brand flagships in the country.
The expansion kicks off in late 2027 with the launch of the Rotorua Marriott Hotel, following a 12-month conversion of the existing Arawa Park Hotel on Fenton Street.

In 2028, The Official Auckland, Autograph Collection will open as an 82-room boutique property, converting a historic building on Eden Crescent. The rollout concludes in 2029 with Fable Wellington, Autograph Collection, an 118-room hotel created through the adaptive reuse of a 1940s office building at the corner of Lambton Quay and Stout Street.
The three projects build on the partnership behind the upcoming St. Regis Queenstown, bringing CP Group’s Pacific-region Marriott portfolio to six properties.
Marriott currently operates the JW Marriott Auckland and Four Points by Sheraton Auckland, with the Sheraton Christchurch and Moxy Auckland also scheduled to join the roster in 2027.
