Nick Clayton quits Jumeirah, Swade steps in

NICHOLAS Clayton is leaving Jumeirah Group as COO, effective June 18, after three years with the company and the group has named Robert Swade as his replacement.

Swade has been part of the senior executive team of Jumeirah Group since he joined the company in October 2005 as general counsel. In 2012, he was appointed as group chief development officer, tasked with building a robust portfolio of future hotel projects for the company.

Jumeirah Group has 23 operating hotels, 19 under development and a total of 70 under negotiation in the UAE, Middle East and Africa, Asia and Europe for both the Jumeirah luxury brand and the new contemporary lifestyle brand Venu.

In his new position, Swade will be responsible for the group’s hotel and commercial operations and will also continue to manage the development team.
