DoubleTree by Hilton to debut in Australia

HILTON Worldwide has signed a management agreement with Ramtron Australia, a consortium led by Western Australian developer Rothchester Hotel and Resorts, to open the first DoubleTree by Hilton property in Australia.

Scheduled to open in mid-2014, the 164-room DoubleTree by Hilton, Karratha will offer 144 guestrooms, 20 apartments, an all-day dining restaurant and bar, a fitness centre, an outdoor pool, three function rooms and car park facilities.

The hotel’s location in Karratha, a major mining hub in the Pilbara region, is said to “support the ever growing demand from the resource sector”, according to Robert Scullin, vice president, development, Australasia, Hilton Worldwide.

Karratha Airport is 15km from the hotel, while the port of Dampier is 20km away.

The DoubleTree by Hilton, Karratha will be the 16th property for Hilton Worldwide in Australasia.
