Aman has named its first Maldives property Amanolu, with the 52-key resort and 16 branded residences scheduled to open in Vaavu Atoll in 2028.
The resort will draw on its island setting, with indoor and outdoor spaces integrated throughout the property.
The 16 Aman Residences will each occupy a private island. Some will face either sunrise or sunset, while others will extend across the island with beaches on both sides.
Each residence will have five bedrooms, indoor and outdoor living areas, private beach access, a 25-metre swimming pool and a private berth. Staff accommodation will also be provided at each residence.
Amanolu will include a wellness island with an Aman Spa and the brand’s Spa Houses, as well as a separate activity island. Diving, snorkelling, water sports and marine activities will be offered.
Other facilities will include dining venues featuring Aman’s culinary concepts, family facilities and communal spaces.
The name Amanolu combines Aman, derived from the Sanskrit word for peace, with Olu, inspired by the water lily found across the Indian Ocean region.
The opening will mark Aman’s entry into the Maldives.
