China’s foreign ministry said on August 28 that inbound travellers to the country will no longer need to perform a pre-departure antigen test for Covid-19 from August 30.
The move is expected to considerably ease entry procedures for travellers entering China, and support the government’s efforts to revive its travel and tourism industry.

China has been reopening its borders at a careful pace, with visa issuance to foreigners resuming in March 2023 and visa-free procedures returning to a limited set of nationalities, including Singaporeans and Bruneians in July.
