Laos’ airlines receive safety certification

0

Laos’ two airlines, Lao Airlines and Lao Skyway, have achieved the SafeFlight certification under the LaoSafe programme, with new flight routes opening up this month.

The SafeFlight standard, one of a series of health and hygiene certifications under the LaoSafe programme, ensures that cabin crew and flight staff abide by strict hygiene regulations to ensure a clean and comfortable flight for passengers. LaoSafe is a nationwide initiative designed to create a health and hygiene system within the tourism and hospitality industry.

“The LaoSafe certification has allowed us to demonstrate our commitment to safe and clean hygiene travel standards for everyone,” said Sitthideth Douangsiththy, deputy director, Lao Airlines.

According to the SafeFlight standards, all airline personnel must follow health and hygiene protocols set in place for maximum cleanliness, and includes daily temperature screening, frequent environmental cleaning and disinfection, wearing masks in the airport and for the duration of the flights, wearing gloves when handling travellers’ personal belongings, regularly washing hands, and providing safety amenities to passengers.

Siviengthong Konnyvong, CEO, Lao Skyway, said: “Tourists can be assured that their travels in Laos abide by the highest hygiene standards.”

Flights connecting Hanoi, Vietnam, and Chiang Mai, Thailand, with Luang Prabang will be available in the coming months. Lao Airlines has also increased the frequency of its Vientiane-Seoul service, and will offer flights to and from major regional destinations such as Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, and Siem Reap.

AirAsia, 12Go create all-in-one transport booking solution for travellers

0

The airasia Super App has launched the Transport feature with 12Go’s inventory, providing its 10.6 million monthly users a seamless booking experience for the entire trip that now covers ground and sea transport on top of flights and hotels.

The latest development is said to make the airasia Super App the world’s first super app to offer a complete journey experience.

The airasia Super App has teamed up with 12Go to include ground and sea transport bookings for travellers

Users from anywhere in the world can easily compare, choose and book intercity buses, trains, private transfers, and ferries from 12Go’s inventory of more than 4,000 operators, covering nearly 50,000 routes across 26 Asian countries. For ground transport, users simply navigate to the Tansport feature with post-booking servicing handled directly by the local operator.

Alexey Abolmasov, CEO, 12Go said: “Ground transport is the glue that makes international travel possible. Our mission is to improve the experience of travel by making the ground and sea elements of a trip simple to plan and book. We intend to partner with the tech and travel ecosystems to put ground transport options in front of travellers wherever they choose to shop, by making our simple-to-deploy API available at scale.”

Even though travel is on the mend, only 10 per cent of bus, ferry, and train tickets are booked digitally today, meaning that despite the ease with which they can book airline, hotel, and destination experiences, travellers are still forced to organise ground transport in person at a kiosk or self-service machine.

Amanda Woo, CEO of airasia Super App, noted: “Being able to easily get to the airport, or move between locations after your flight has landed can make or break a trip. That’s why we’re adding Asia’s most comprehensive bus, train and ferry options from 12Go to our Super App, so travellers can organise every aspect of their trip in one place. When it comes to the journey itself, ground transport is the final piece of the jigsaw for our users.”

Abolmasov added that 12Go has organised the world’s bus, train and ferry information by working closely with thousands of local operators to bring them online.

“This just wouldn’t have been possible even a year ago, and we hope this type of deal helps a greater number of travellers to plan more connected and comfortable journeys,” he said.
