Hilton has signed its first hotel on the Indonesian island of Batam, a 199-key property that will serve a diverse clientele, from corporate travellers and meetings groups to holidaymakers and golfers.
Developed by Sabang Raya Investama and scheduled to open in 2028, Hilton Garden Inn Batam City Centre will enjoy convenient access to the island’s major commercial, retail and administrative hubs, including Lubuk Baja and Batam Centre.

Maria Ariizumi, vice president, development, South East Asia & Australasia at Hilton, said: “The signing of Hilton Garden Inn Batam City Centre marks our debut in Batam and reinforces our commitment to growing in high-potential destinations across Indonesia.”
She noted that Batam is “an important business and leisure destination, supported by its close proximity to Singapore and Malaysia, strong connectivity, and expanding visitor economy”.
“Partnering with Hilton represents an exciting milestone for us as we bring an internationally recognised hospitality brand to Batam,” said Sukirman Djohan, president director, Sabang Raya Investama. “We believe Hilton Garden Inn Batam City Centre will cater to the needs of modern business and leisure travellers while supporting Batam’s continued growth as a regional destination.”
