AirAsia will relocate its domestic services from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (Subang Airport) to Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA T2), effective April 7.
With passenger volumes between Kuala Lumpur and key destinations like Kota Kinabalu and Kuching increasing by 16 per cent year-on-year, shifting operations to KLIA T2 will help AirAsia better accommodate the rising traffic.

Since resuming operations from Subang in August last year, the airline has closely analysed passenger trends and operational needs. While Subang has been convenient for city-bound travellers, its redevelopment to support future growth will take time. Therefore, AirAsia will move all operations to KLIA T2 to improve efficiency and enhance the guest experience.
AirAsia Malaysia CEO Fareh Mazputra stated that to ensure a seamless transition, operations will continue at Subang Airport during the high-demand Hari Raya week.
“This allows the majority of guests travelling for the holidays to benefit from its convenience before the shift. We have also put in place comprehensive Service Recovery Options, including complimentary flight changes, credit accounts, or full refunds, to minimise any inconvenience,” he said.
“KLIA T2 has been instrumental in strengthening Kuala Lumpur’s position as a leading regional mega hub, and we are proud to reinforce our presence there as the dominant carrier.”
