The much-anticipated Singapore Tourism Awards took place at the prestigious Fairmont Singapore on Tuesday this week. Attended by some 500 VIPs and industry members, the annual gala event was another colourful and resounding success.
Every year, the Singapore Tourism Awards celebrates and recognises individuals and organisations in the tourism sector for delivering outstanding experiences and for demonstrating enterprise excellence.
Organised by the Singapore Tourism Board, the Awards seeks to raise the competitiveness of Singapore’s tourism sector by motivating organisations and individuals to create compelling experiences or to adopt best practices.
In total, some 29 organisations and individuals are honoured and recognised each year for Experience Excellence for Leisure and Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE), Enterprise Excellence and Customer Service, Special Recognition and Top Awards. This year, there were seven recipients for the MICE categories.
Nominations closed in mid-January and the shortlisting and a rigorous judging process took place between February and April. Shortlisted nominees were required to respond to a judging panel comprising overseas and Singaporean industry experts from the tourism sector.
