KUALA LUMPUR Malaysian demand for European trips is bound to improve this year as air capacity grows and the ringgit strengthens against the euro and the pound.
Jason Lim, managing director of Golden Tourworld Travel, said increased frequencies on Emirates, from 14 to 21 weekly flights to Dubai, have stimulated the market and encouraged more incentive movements.
The company has thus created new mono in-depth tour programmes to Italy, France, Switzerland, the UK and parts of Eastern Europe, to boost sales by 15 per cent.
Encouraged by Qatar Airways’ new four weekly Doha-Copenhagen flights from March 30, Parlo Tours general manager Kerry Tam is targeting a 30 per cent rise in sales volumes to Scandinavia.
Bestour & Travel operation manager Terence Chew is eyeing a 15 to 20 per cent increase in Europe sales, compared to his 20 per cent decline last year, and expects demand for full-board group tours to continue.
