First major renovation for Four Seasons Print E-mail

Four Seasons Hotel Singapore – the new look promises to retain its “timeless elegance”.

THE Four Seasons Hotel Singapore will undergo a major renovation in March, its first since the property opened in November 1994.

The 190 guestrooms’ retrofit alone will cost S$12 million (US$8.15 million) and will be handled by the same designer, Hirsch Bedner Associates, in order to preserve its original character as a “timeless, elegant” hotel, regional vice-
president general manager Mr Ignacio Gomez-Tobar, said.

The renovation will be done in phases and will be completed in July.

With the soon-to-open St Regis as its neighbour, he said “for sure, St Regis is a reason, but only part”.

“As a rule of thumb, hotels undergo fairly major renovations after seven years. This hotel is well maintained and still looks good but we believe in investing to keep it looking fresh and to add infrastructure (such as CAT-6 wiring) that will prepare it for future technology additions,” he said.
