Akaryn Hotel Group has appointed Christian Oliver Zunk as general manager to oversee akyra Thonglor Bangkok, which soft-launched in December 2016.
Zunk joins akyra from Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp and Resort in Chiang Rai, where he worked for nearly five years. Prior to that, he helmed an upscale boutique resort in Abu Dhabi.
The hotel business school graduate and state-certified hotel manager has worked with Forte, Sofitel and Kempinski hotels across his native Germany, as well as stints with Four Seasons in New York and Hawaii.
Zunk is a seasoned hotelier with 22 years of experience. This is his third senior management posting.
